Janice A. Boucher

Janice A. (Fleury) Boucher, 78, beloved wife of 58 years, to Robert A. Boucher, Sr., passed away on Sunday, May 24, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Janice was born on December 30, 1947, in Holyoke, MA, a daughter of the late Marcel and Cecile (Boissonnault) Fleury. She was a lifelong resident of Chicopee, a proud graduate of Class of 1965 at Chicopee Comprehensive High School and longtime parishioner of St. Rose de Lima Church. Janice was formerly employed at Deluxe Check Printers before assisting at her daughter’s home daycare where she took great joy in being Memere to all the children. She was a CCD School teacher and a former Cub Scout Leader, Pac 138, out of St. Joan of Arc School in Chicopee. Janice fully supported her children’s and grandchildren’s sports activities and dance recitals, never missing an event where she again lovingly became Memere to her bonus grandchildren. She always placed her family and close friends at the center of her life and was regarded as a devoted mother by all who knew her. Janice is survived by her loving devoted husband, Robert A. Boucher, Sr. and children, Robert A. Boucher, Jr. and his wife, Lori, Deborah J. Godin and her husband, Robert, and Cynthia M. Boyer and her husband, Jamie, all of Chicopee. She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Connie Brassard and her late husband Gene of Chicopee, Roger Fleury and his wife, Pam of New Hampshire, Donald Fleury and his wife, Denise of California, and Susan Fortin and her husband, Richard of Chicopee, seven cherished grandchildren, Cody (Liz), Amber, Delaney (Brandon), Danielle, Andrew (Hailey), Jeremy, and Emily, four great grandchildren, Owen, Jack, Kai and Camilla, and many cherished nieces and nephews. Calling hours for Janice will be held from 4-6PM on Wednesday, June 3, at Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 4, beginning at 9AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St. Chicopee. Burial will follow at St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Chicopee. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janice’s name may be made to St. Joan of Arc School 587 Grattan Street Chicopee MA 01020.
