Wieslaw Wrona

Wieslaw Wrona passed away peacefully in his home on September 24th, 2022 at the age of 72. He will be remembered as a kind, generous soul who wished to give more than he received. His passion for learning and for sharing his own knowledge of the natural world will be dearly missed. He was born on January 22nd 1950 in Krakow, Poland to Maria {Wator} and Daniel Wrona. In his youth he worked as a coal miner, taxi driver, and laborer. He came to America in 1982, first in Chicopee, for a time working construction in New York City, and finally moved back to settle in Holyoke, MA. He started and ran his own successful business - WW Hardwood Flooring. His skillful touch is evidenced by the phone calls that still come in asking for his handiwork 7 years after retirement. He greatly enjoyed telling jokes, fishing, mushroom picking, cooking, pickling, gardening, and most of all beekeeping (his “girls” will miss him dearly). Outside of his love of the outdoors, Wes never lost his love for his homeland - he could be counted upon to root for Poland in any sporting event. From soccer to ski long jumping and volleyball to handball - for every niche Olympic event, Wes was tuned in. He is predeceased by his sister Danuta Nowak, and survived by siblings Marek Wrona, Ala Skocka, Leszek Wrona, & Malgorzata Siemek. He is also survived by his wife of nearly 30 years Ewa Wrona, their daughter Aleksandra Fitzgerald, and her husband Sean. He is also survived by his children from a previous marriage: Robert Wrona, his wife Cassie, and their children Ania and Mila; and Iwona Wrona-Giguere, her husband Josh, and their children Henri and Tomas. He will be missed by these and too many other family members and friends to list. All who he touched are invited to join us at Kozikowski Funeral Home located at 565 Front St. Chicopee, MA on Sunday 10/2 from 2-5pm for a wake, and at the Basilica of Saint Stanislaus at 566 Front St. Chicopee, MA on Monday 10/3 at 10am for a Mass of Christian Burial, followed by burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee. A reception at Old Country Banquet Hall at 4 Alden Ave, Enfield, CT to reminisce, grieve, and support each other will follow the cemetery service.
