Adella B. (Zajchowski) Parylak Pskowski, 89, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Wingate of Springfield, with loving friends at her side. Born in Chicopee on April 25, 1924, daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Janasz) Zajchowski, Adella had lived in Springfield for most of her life. She was a retired 17 year printer for Monarch Life Insurance Co., and previously was a 12 year employee for the former American Bosch Co., both of Springfield. Adella was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church, and a member of AARP and the Sixteen Acres Golden Agers. She was a devoted supporter of St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital, and an avid player at area bingo games. She was predeceased in 1975 by her first husband, Joseph Parylak; and in 1999 by her second husband, John S. Pskowski. Adella is survived by her brother, Walter Zajchowski, Jr. of CT; three nieces, Ruth Stainbrook and her husband Edwin of MI, Roseann Sillian and her husband John of CT, and Larreta Goddard and her husband David of CT; her great niece Debra of MI; and her dear friends, Yvonne and Vinny Ferraro of Springfield and Josephine Carter of Springfield. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:30 AM from the Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Parker St., Springfield. Burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Friday from 5-7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, or to St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker St., Springfield, MA 01109.
