Allan J. Jourdain, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 29, 2022, with loving family at his side. Born May 1, 1938, son of the late Aldemore and Helen (Jajgowski) Jourdain, he was a graduate of Chicopee High School, and worked as a printer for Eastern Etching Manufacturing for nearly forty years. He was a US Marine Corps veteran, and served our country overseas in Okinawa. In younger years, Allan was a Boy Scout Leader. He was an avid golfer, and in retirement, enjoyed working at the Big E. Allan was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Amvets of Chicopee, and the Marine Corps League of Westfield. Allan was predeceased in 2017 by his beloved wife of fifty-seven years, Claire R. (Sherry) Jourdain; and is survived by his loving children, Jeff A. Jourdain and wife Kelly of Becket, Diane L. Almeida and husband Joseph of Westfield, and Melissa A. Lang and husband Paul of Feeding Hills; seven cherished grandchildren, Nathaniel Almeida and fiancée Serena Wong, Joshua Almeida and wife Hannah, Olivia Almeida and fiancé Scott Singer, Jake Jourdain, Emmaeve Jourdain, Evan Jourdain Lang and Benjamin Jourdain Lang; brother, Robert Jourdain and wife Ann of Chicopee; and several nieces, nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Sherry Ann Jourdain, and brother, James Jourdain. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial for Allan on Monday, February 7 at 9:30AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St., Chicopee. Burial with Military Honors will follow in MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church.
