Andrea Mary Miodonka, 63, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 24, 2020, with her loving family at her side. Born July 18, 1956, "Andzia" was the daughter of Joseph A. and Edna T. (Kowal) Miodonka. She was an honors graduate of Porter & Chester Institute, where she earned her degree as a Medical Assistant. She was employed at Baystate Medical Center and worked for the late Dr. Raymond L. Gagnon. Andrea was a compassionate and devout communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop & Martyr, where she served her parish in several capacities. Andrea was a secular Franciscan and Sacristan of the Basilica. Her family sincerely thanks the Franciscans for their prayers, the entire Ministry of Care, and her professional caregivers for their loving devotion to Andrea’s comfort and spiritual needs. Andrea played the piano and in her younger years was a toe ballerina. She greatly enjoyed listening to and singing Polish hymns, and cared about all animals, especially her cats. Along with her beloved parents, Joseph and Edna Miodonka of Feeding Hills, Andrea is survived by her loving sisters, Marcia Leclerc and husband Michael of NH, Regina Labonty of NH, Francine Kumiega and husband James of Chicopee, and Kristen Debian and husband Dr. Badri of West Springfield; nephew, Mason, and nieces, Sarah, Hannah and Laylah. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Carl Labonty. Funeral services for Andrea will be held Friday from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Rites of Committal and burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 9-10:45AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Stanislaus Ministry of Care or the parish Elevator Fund, 566 Front St., Chicopee, MA 01013.
