Caroline J. “Lusia” Krist, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center. Born August 6, 1929 in Glinik, Poland, daughter of the late Karol and Karolina (Honkowicz) Krist, she lived in Chicopee for the past fifty years. Lusia was a retired assembler for the Milton Bradley Co. and a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr. She was surrounded by loving friends who deeply mourn her passing; Ewa Romanowska of Agawam, Irene Wasilewska and her daughter Kathy DeSilva of Longmeadow and Elizabeth Croll of Providence, RI; they were her stalwart aides to the very end. Lusia was a generous, warmhearted woman who loved life, socializing with friends and shopping expeditions. She was known for her love of cats and found a way to care for her pets to the very end. Funeral services for Lusia will be held Thursday morning from the Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 8:30-9:45AM.
