Frances M. (Majewicz) Bator, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 6, 2014. Born June 13, 1927, daughter of the late John and Aniela (Klinek) Majewicz, she was a lifelong Chicopee resident. Frances was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church, and retired from Holyoke News Publishing after many years of service. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed times spent with friends and family. Frances was predeceased in 2009 by her beloved husband, Max S. Bator and predeceased in 1999 by her beloved son, Donald J. Bator. She is survived by her loving children, Richard J. Bator and his wife Rose of Chicopee and Susan A. Bednar and her husband Joseph of Holyoke; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Bator of Chicopee; nine cherished grandchildren, Michelle, Craig, Alan, Cara, Brandon, Matthew, Melissa, Lori and Joe; five very special great grandchildren, Joseph, Ryan, Anna, Nathan and Anabelle; her sister, Mary A. Rice of Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Majewicz and her sisters, Genevieve Midura, Lena Kempczynski and Jane Jakubowski. Funeral services for Frances will be held Tuesday morning from the Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 57 St. Anthony St., Chicopee. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday morning from 8:30-10:30AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
