Francis M. “Frank” Pikula, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Wingate at West Springfield. Born May 17, 1928, son of the late Frank and Katherine (Stonina) Pikula, he lived in West Springfield for the past sixty years and previously in Chicopee. Frank was a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a communicant of Holy Mother of the Rosary National Catholic Church. He was a thirty two year tax auditor for the Commonwealth of MA. He held membership in the American Legion Post 452 and the ELKS Lodge 1849. Frank is survived by his loving nieces, Lynn A. Pettrow and her husband Joseph, of Centennial, CO and Katherine H. Revera, her husband Joseph, of Aurora, CO., and nephew, Stephen Z. Wasuta , of Turlock, CA.. He was predeceased by his sister, Florence T. Wasuta. Calling hours for Frank will be held Friday from 9-10:30AM at the Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in Holy Mother of the Rosary Church. Burial with military honors will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104-2396.
