Helen (Ternes) Kwarciany Wroblewski passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at home, after several months of being cared for by her loving family, friends, and caregivers. Born in Poland, daughter of the late Tomasz and Jozefa (Wilczek) Ternes, she lived in Chicopee for the past thirty five years and previously in Holyoke. Helen was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and a retired inspector for Easco Hand Tool Co. A member of the Unitas Society and the Polish National Alliance, Helen’s priority was that of being a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was predeceased in 1974 by her first husband, Alphonse Kwarciany, in 1984 by her second husband, Antonio Wroblewski, and in 1995 by her son, Stanley Kwarciany. Helen is survived by her loving daughters, Mary Winiarski of Chicopee, Halina Hepp and her husband James of South Carolina, Diane Lane and her husband Phillip of West Springfield and Jane Cheney and her husband Howard of Westfield; and her many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Manusia and Emilia, her brother, Henryk, and son-in-law, Edward Winiarski. Helen’s family would like to thank the staff of Baystate VNA and Hospice for the kind care and attention given to their mother. A Mass of Christian Burial in the chapel of Elms College and burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery were held privately.
