Joseph S. Dubiel, a lifelong Chicopee resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Joseph was a graduate of Chicopee High School, Class of 1963, and a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. He was employed at Philip Hano Printers and later at Mass. Wholesale Drugs. Joseph volunteered for twenty years at the Storrowton Village Museum in West Springfield, also serving as the resident master gardener and yuletide decorator. He enjoyed spending time at the Chicopee Public Library and quite frequently went home with a new book on the day of its arrival. Joseph was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Catherine (Winiarski) Dubiel, and by his sister, Jane J. Dubiel in 2006. He is survived by his loving and caring sister, Evelyn H. Kennedy and her husband Timothy of Newark, NY; godmother and favorite aunt, Jennie Jendrysik of Chicopee; cousin, Diane Paul and her husband Mark of Chicopee; and extended family of aunts, uncle and many cousins. Funeral services and burial for Joseph in St. Stanislaus Cemetery were private. Memorial contributions in Joseph’s name may be made to the Storrowton Village Museum, 1305 Memorial Ave., West Springfield, MA 01089 or the Chicopee Public Library, 449 Front St., Chicopee, MA 01013.
