Lorraine A. (Dudek) Minkos, 86, a lifelong Chicopee resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center. Born on November 8, 1927, daughter of the late John and Helen (Pinkos) Dudek, she was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop & Martyr. A graduate of Chicopee High School, Class of 1945, Lorraine was a longtime bookkeeper for area businesses: the former Ferris Department Store, Hoppe Tool Co., and Liberty Register. In her younger years she was an avid golfer and bowler, and more recently enjoyed gathering with her friends at local bingo games. Lorraine’s family would like to thank the Chicopee Visiting Nurses and the Great To Be Home Care Service for the excellent care and kindness given to her. Lorraine was predeceased in 1981 by her beloved husband, Myron M. Minkos, and in 1973 by her dear son, Joseph M. Minkos. She is survived by her loving son, Michael A. Minkos and his wife Elaine of South Hadley; cherished grandchildren, Joseph Minkos, Jeffrey Minkos and his wife Marlena, and Maria Minkos, all of Connecticut; great-grandchildren, Ania and Max Minkos; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Winiarz, and brother, Joseph Dudek. Funeral services for Lorraine will be held Monday at 10 AM from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-7 PM.
