Marilyn “Lynn” (Devine) Wood, 67, was reunited with her loving husband, Doug “Woody”, on January 21, 2019. Born in Springfield daughter of the late Donald and Helen (Pelczarski) Devine, Lynn dedicated her life to enriching the lives of the youth of the Springfield area. She stayed home while her children were young and ran a Day Care out of her home, and worked in the Monson School system. When Lynn and her family moved back to Springfield in 1988 Lynn worked within the Springfield School system until retirement in 2015. Lynn had a love of gardening, especially enjoying her gardens at her dream home in Hampden she shared with her husband. Lynn was also a talented painter, baker and cook; especially known for her epic Christmas cookies, lasagna, and meatballs. Lynn was also an avid fan of New England sports, with a special love for Dustin Pedroia and all things Red Sox, and also loved to watch Golf with Woody. Lynn will be deeply missed by her three loving daughters, Jennifer and husband Jeff, of Chicopee, Samantha and fiancée Dave, of Tucson, AZ and Meaghan of Ware; her six beautiful grandchildren Brooke, Owen, Camren, Adalyn, Douglas, and Nicco; siblings Kathleen, Donald, Paul, and Christine. She also leaves several nieces and nephews who lovingly knew her as “Auntie Lynnie”, dear friend Peggie Ross, several extended family members, lifelong friends, and of course, her extended family and friends at the Springfield Public School System. Services will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MA Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association 264 Cottage St., Springfield, MA 01104.
