Marion T. (Vielleux) Plasse, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. Born January 23, 1932, daughter of the late Albine and Maria (Cavelli) Vielleux, she was a communicant of Assumption Church. Marion was a loving wife, working mother and multi-talented woman. A skilled seamstress, she created beautiful wedding gowns for many family brides, including her daughter. Marion loved to see heads turn at the vision of her brides walking down the aisle. But her favorite job was as head cook in the kitchen of Assumption Elementary School. “Mrs. Plasse” committed over ten years of service to her parish before beginning her career as an assistant cook at a local nursing home, where after attending classes at Holyoke Community College she rose to Kitchen Nutrition Supervisor. Marion was not one to retire during her retirement. Within two years, she was back in the kitchen-this time as a baker for Big Y Supermarket, where, as a teenager, she’d been a cashier in 1948. Upon her true retirement, she enjoyed trips to Cape Cod, and attended a White House Christmas party during the Obama administration. Marion was predeceased in 1991 by her beloved husband, Roger A. Plasse, whom she married on March 10, 1951, wearing her grandmother’s wedding gown. She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Debra S. Kozikowski and husband Paul of Chicopee, and son, Darrian D. Plasse of Chicopee; cherished grandchildren, John Paul Kozikowski of Chicopee, Luke Andrew Kozikowski of Brooklyn, NY, AimeeLee Plasse, Nicholas Arthur Plasse of Chicopee, and Theresa Plasse of Springfield; treasured great-grandson, Brandon Hebert; brother, Walter Valego and wife Anna of Agawam, and sister, Josephine DeJordy; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Amanda L. Plasse, brother, Robert Vielleux, and sister, Shirley Maciolek. Funeral services for Marion were held privately.
