Orrin Robert “Jerry” Miller, 83, a longtime resident of Chicopee, passed away peacefully at the Soldiers Home in Holyoke on May 6, 2016. Orrin was born Feb. 24, 1933 in Coopersburg, PA to the late Andrew and Viola (Ohl) Miller. A United States Air Force veteran, he served his country from 1952 to 1956. Orrin was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop & Martyr. He worked for Gray Supply Co. for many years and subsequently worked and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Throughout his life Orrin enjoyed gardening, hiking, deep sea fishing, and the outdoors. He offered his time volunteering and took pleasure in cooking and watching the New England Patriots. In addition to his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Frances ( Marek) Miller, Orrin is survived by his two sons, Matthew of Argyle, ME and Karl of South Portland, ME. He also leaves his brother Arthur and wife Dorothy of Coopersburg, PA as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Orrin was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa Miller Russo, and his brother, Kenneth Miller. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9AM from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Saint Stanislaus Basilica. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-7PM. Burial with military honors will be at the convenience of the family.
