Stanley A. "Pinky" Orzolek, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. Born November 11, 1938, son of the late Stanley A. Sr. and Bertha (Gazda) Orzolek, he lived in Chicopee for the past fifty three years. Stanley was a graduate of State University of New York Maritime Academy, Class of 1960, and a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr. He worked first as a deck officer with the Merchant Marines, then for many years, as a supervisor at Super Valu Co., and for the past fifteen years for John’s Draft Service. Stanley was an avid Patriots, Bruins and NASCAR fan. He bowled with the John Pellan League, enjoyed daily trips to Dunkin Donuts, and spending time gardening, fishing and boating. His special times were summers spent with the family at Holly Tree Campground and Rhode Island beaches. Stanley is survived by his beloved wife of fifty three years, Theresa A. (St. Marie) Orzolek; four loving sons, Keith A. Orzolek and wife Susan, of St. Clairsville, OH, Mark C. Orzolek and fiancee SueAnn, of Chicopee, Brian J. Orzolek and wife Judi, of Wheeling, WV, and Kurt A. Orzolek and wife Jennifer, of Easthampton; nine cherished grandchildren, Greg Sagan, Kyle, London, Bradley, Zachary, Kendall and Cole Orzolek, and Grace and Luke Theroux; siblings, Marcia Rosa Borges and Bernie Kulas, of Williamsburg, VA, Michael Orzolek and wife Judy, of State College, PA and Jackie Orzolek and husband John, of Albany, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9AM from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
