Walter S. Krupczak, 85, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 after a brief illness. Born in Enfield on June 13, 1928, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Glista) Krupczak, he spent his retirement years in Windsor Locks and Holiday, FL. Walter served his country in the US Navy during World War II stationed in Virginia and Alaska, and retired from the Milton Bradley Co. after many years of service. Walter and his wife were active members of the Pulaski Club, German Club and PALV in Holiday, where they shared many special occasions with good friends. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, and a good ballgame as an avid Tampa Bay Rays fan. He attended many family sporting events for both his children and grandchildren, cheering them on with great enthusiasm. Walter is survived by his beloved wife, Katharina Krupczak; his loving children, Sonia Dudas and her husband Paul, and Peter Krupczak and his wife Kathleen; granddaughter Kara Palozie and her husband Jack, grandson Michael Krupczak, and great-grandson, Jack Palozie. He also leaves his step children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with family and friends locally and in Florida. Walter was predeceased in 1989 by his first wife, Irene (Szczuka) Krupczak. Calling hours for Walter will be held Thursday from 4-7 PM at Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee. Burial with military honors in St. Stanislaus Cemetery will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 264 Cottage St., Springfield, MA 01104.
