Wanda “Vann” H. Larkowski, 72, passed away peacefully at Holyoke Medical Center on Thursday, January 6, 2022, with loving family at her side. Born February 24, 1949, daughter of the late Josef and Stefania (Fudala) Larkowski, she was a graduate of Holyoke High School. Wanda continued her education at Holyoke Community College, earning certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She also attended Broms Hairdressing Academy and graduated as a licensed hairstylist. Wanda followed the paths of both occupations, making many treasured friends along the way. A very creative woman, Wanda was an amazing artist, baker, and cake decorator, rendering each wedding cake she made a piece of art. In her younger years she visited Poland, and the story of her parents journey from their home in Poland to a Polish work camp in Germany during World War II is told in a chapter of the book, ‘Waiting to be Heard’. Wanda is survived by her beloved son, Stephen Larkowski of Chicopee; loving siblings, Henry Larkowski and wife Betty Ann, Lori Piquette and husband Robert, Robert Larkowski and wife Natalie, and Lisa Larkowski; along with several nieces and nephews.
