Corrinne Ann Magotra

Corrinne Ann (Bishop) Magotra, PhD, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2026, with her loving husband by her side. Born on April 11, 1951, in Axtell, Kansas, to the late Wilber and Anna Marie (Deters) Bishop. A graduate of Axtell High School, she was the second oldest of eleven children. Known affectionately as “Rinne” by her family, Corrinne was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. A strong believer in education, Corrinne continued her pursuit of knowledge; obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in English from Washburn University, a Master’s degree in theater from Kansas State University, and a PhD degree in education from University of New Mexico. Gifted with a lovely singing voice, Corrinne received awards in music competitions. She was very creative and enjoyed an array of crafts, such as macramé, needlepoint, sewing, crocheting, and knitting. Travel, reading, writing, word games and family genealogy were also part of her many interests. Corrinne also had a fascination with prairie dogs. She married the love of her life, Neeraj Magotra, on December 5, 1981 and Neeraj later adopted Corrinne’s two children, Amber and Corbett, from an earlier marriage. Corrinne will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, kindness, and infectious laugh. She was an incredible human being, compassionate, highly intelligent, warm and funny. She loved gathering people together and letting us know that all our voices have value. Corrinne is survived by her beloved husband, Neeraj Magotra; daughter, Amber Ann Magotra, Durham, NC; and son, Corbett (Courtney) Magotra, Austin, TX; sisters, Christine (Terry) Krier, McPherson, KS; Carla Bishop, Axtell, KS; brothers, Wilber (Laurie) Bishop, Saraland, AL; David (Gigi) Bishop, Henderson, NV; and Seth Bishop, Axtell, KS; numerous nieces & nephews; and two treasured feline companions, William and Mystique. Corrinne was predeceased by her brothers, Jon Charles & Kenton, sisters, Carol, Cathy, & Cissy, sister-in-law, Amanda, and nephew Mathias Krier. Calling hours for Corrinne will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 4:30 PM-6:30 PM at Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, with a funeral service at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice in Corrinne’s name. Corrinne will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
