Jane A. Sosnicki

Jane A. (Grigaitis) Sosnicki, 94, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 23, 2022. Born on November 4, 1928, daughter of the late John and Anna (Kapinos) Grigaitis, she was a lifelong Chicopee resident. A graduate of Chicopee High School, Jane was a faithful parishioner of St. Stanislaus Basilica. The life of the dance floor at any family event, she was also an avid reader, a skilled gardener, and an astute card player. Over the years, she kept many families of wild birds and squirrels well fed and entertained. She loved cooking, especially for her family and special gatherings, and her Polish specialties of pierogies and golumpkis and her delicious pancakes will be sorely missed. Most of all, she will be remembered for her warm smile and constant presence, and the support and love she always provided her family. Jane was predeceased in 2000 by her beloved husband, Stanley J. Sosnicki, Jr. She was also predeceased by her brother, Joseph J. Grigaitis, her dear niece Diane Worthington, and her granddaughter, Rebecca Sosnicki. Jane is survived by her loving sister, Dorothy A. Grigaitis and sister-in-law, Florence Grigaitis; her four beloved children, Kathleen A. Crocker and partner Vance Child, Stephan Sosnicki, Sr., and wife Barbara, Jo-Ann Sabatini and husband Richard, and Joseph S. Sosnicki and wife Amy; her niece Louanne Desharnais and her husband Thomas; her fifteen cherished grandchildren, Jeff Hirtle and wife Amy, Craig Hirtle and wife Laura, Stephan Sosnicki, Jr., Timothy Sosnicki and wife Nikki, Stephanie Babin, Brett Sabatini and wife Marisa, Joshua Babin and wife Marissa, Shannon Berens and husband Matthew, Sarah Cannici and husband Ryan, Casey Sabatini and fiancé Evan Dean, Nathan J. Sosnicki and wife Amanda, Britney Ludemann and husband Tom, Amber B. Sosnicki, Benjamin J. Sosnicki, and Joseph N. Sosnicki, and her ten treasured great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Jane will be held Thursday from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Calling hours are Thursday from 9-10:45AM. Committal service and burial in MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery will be held privately for family.
